If  interested in pursuing donor oocyte IVF, you will need to schedule a consult to go over how our donor egg program works. If you would like to schedule a complementary recipient consult click here.

We understand the process of finding a donor can be a stressful and difficult time. Therefore, it is our goal to make the selection process as smooth as possible for our patients. One way in which we do this is having our donors go through rigorous screening before they ever appear in our donor database.  Queer Conception actively recruits and screens young, healthy, fertile women between the ages of 20 and 32. Although egg donors are compensated financially, we have found that the majority of our women who become egg donors are motivated by a strong, altruistic desire to help the LGBTQ+ community enter parenthood as well as help women experiencing infertility.

While our donors are anonymous, that does not mean you cannot get a general understanding of their personal qualities and characteristics such as eye color, race, ethnicity, etc. and other basic information including their height, weight, education, and more.

The recruitment process includes medical and genetic testing and routine lab tests including: blood type and Rh factor; rubella; complete blood count; and liver function test (ALT). In addition, all donors must test negative for the AIDS virus, Hepatitus B and C, Syphilis, CMV and STDs such as gonorrhea and chlamydia. All ethnic donors are tested for Tay Sacs (Jewish donors), Thalassemia and Hemoglobinopathies (Mediterranean descent) and Cystic Fibrosis. These tests are repeated for every donation cycle.

Donors are screened and selected according to national regulations of the Department of Health, standards of the AATB and guidelines of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Many clients opt for a known donor (a friend or family member) as a way of maintaining some biological or social connectivity to their donor. Known donors will still undergo the same medical screening as donors recruited by Queer Conception.

We make every effort to find a donor that the recipient couple will feel entirely comfortable with and we guide you through this difficult and unique process. Using the information provided by you about your preferences, priorities, and exclusions, we try to identify donors who meet those requirements in a general way and who are available within your time frame.  We then provide you with detailed personal, family, educational, and medical information about a few donors and the final selection is made jointly.  We give you as much information as we can without compromising confidentiality.

Our current donor profiles available for fresh and frozen donor eggs are able to be viewed once you register as a patient and have been granted access to the patient portal (username & password are required).  The website helps keep our donor database updated for our intended parents, as well as provide you with the most recent information on our donors. You will be able to anonymously review the current donor profiles that are available through Queer Conception.

If it states currently matched- that means she is currently in a cycle.  At the end of the cycle, the donor will be asked if she would like to remain in the pool to cycle again.

If it states donor available- that means that she is avail to cycle immediately.

If it states that there are frozen eggs avail- that means that there are frozen eggs here in our egg bank from that donor.  These are available on a first come, first serve basis.  Your recipient coordinator would be able to advise you how many are available (we sell in batches of 6).

If it states that there are no frozen eggs avail- that means that there are no frozen eggs here in our egg bank from that donor.

If it states donor frozen eggs only- this means that the donor is not able to cycle for a fresh cycle (either removed from program or maxed out) but does have frozen eggs available to purchase.  Again, on a first come, first serve basis.

New donors are added regularly, so we encourage you to be checking our donor profiles regularly as well to see if there is a better match for you.  We encourage you to narrow your selection down to 3 donors.  Your recipient coordinator will gladly review this with you.

There are some requirements you would need to complete in order to be matched or select frozen eggs.  You will be advised by your recipient coordinator once your checklist is completed and you are able to be matched.

While our website is a fantastic resource to learn about the basics of fertility, and the treatment plans offered at Queer Conception, remember that we are here to help along any step of the way. Therefore, please feel free to continue browsing our site, but if you come across any questions or are ready to get started with a free one-hour consultation, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
